Due to the ongoing risk of Covid-19, Thistly Cross has taken the difficult decision to not open up our 'apples for cider' scheme to the general public over Autumn 2020.
Based on experience and the overwhelming demand of previous years, we feel that we cannot guarantee the safety of both the public and our team if we receive a large number of apple donations, requiring a lot of people to access our site, so have decided it would be best to take a break from the scheme in 2020.
We will still be working with a pre-agreed group of larger suppliers and landowners to ensure we receive the required continuity of supply of local apples to produce our much loved cider and apple juice. We are confident that these bulk apple loads will be able to be safely delivered and pressed.
Thistly Cross Cider would like to thank the hundreds of householders, smallholders, and community groups who have donated apples in the past and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
